Superior Plant’s First Year Safety Achievement

     Superior, WI, January 2009

On January 16, Graymont’s Superior Plant received recognition and kudos for its first major safety achievement since becoming part of Graymont just about one year ago – one year with no lost time accidents! This is a significant accomplishment, and all of Graymont congratulates the Superior team for their dedication to staying safe on the job. The Superior Plant, formerly Cutler Magner, already had a solid safety culture in place, and this year’s achievement marks the continuation of their strength in this area of lime manufacturing. According to plant manager Phil Marquis, the employees benefit from a strong safety committee and act as a mindful crew, willing to watch out for and remind each other to work safely. This is a 24/7 commitment, requiring involvement at all levels, and all of the Superior employees are commended for this fine achievement. Bill Dodge, President and CEO, expressed his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation on this first safety milestone for the “new” Graymont plant.

Graymont takes a long term view of its business and the lime industry and is looking forward to continuing its work in Superior, and in so doing, improving our environment, contributing to the community as a good neighbor and adding value as a responsible business partner.
