Dimension stone is one of the oldest building materials known to man; evidence the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the ancient structures of Rome. Dimension stone is natural stone that is cut and shaped to a specific size. It is used for structural or decorative uses.
Graymont is the operator of one of the oldest dimension stone quarries in the province of Quebec. Material from St-Marc-des-Carrieres (a distinctive dark colored limestone) was used to build many of the beautiful buildings in Old Quebec, including the Chateau Frontenac, the Citadel, and the Parliament as well as other historical structures. Our clients cut the stone into the desired shapes and ship St-Marc Limestone™ to consumers all over North America. All material is sold in large block form as Graymont does no processing of the material.
